Oskar McPhie

Defensive Back, University of Toronto Varsity Blues

Oskar McPhie is a standout defensive back for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, currently pursuing a degree in Kinesiology. In his 2024 rookie season, he made an immediate impact, dressing for six regular season games and recording 12 total tackles (9 solo, 3 assisted), along with two fumble recoveries and was named to the OUA All-Rookie Team. 

He also earned U of T’s Rookie of the Year honours for his contributions on and off the field.

Before joining the Varsity Blues, Oskar was a key player for the South Delta Sun Devils in high school. He was named a team captain in grades 11 and 12, recognized for his leadership and commitment. Throughout his high school career he was also named a Provincial All-Star DB, won team MVP in grade 12, won Rookie of the Year in grade 11, and received a scholarship to play football at the University of Toronto.

Oskar also played club football with the Rams, where he was named Rookie of the Year, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in Canadian football.

Darius Hanna

Defensive Back, University of Calgary Dinos  

Darius Hanna is a defensive back for the University of Calgary Dinos, where he just completed his first season of U Sports football. Off the field, he is a business student majoring in finance at the University of Calgary. 

Darius began his football journey in kindergarten with the South Delta Rams, starting in flag football before transitioning to tackle at the atom level. He continued playing with the Rams for several years, earning multiple MVP awards along the way. 

He played high school football at South Delta Secondary with the Sun Devils, where he was named Most Improved Player in his senior year. He also received the Big Lick Award, given to players known for their physicality and intensity on the field. 

After receiving five U Sports football offers, Darius committed to the University of Calgary. He brings discipline, focus, and passion to the field and is committed to helping young athletes grow in both skill and confidence. 

“We created one more rep football. as a way to give back to a community that has given so much to us. Both of us growing up in Tsawwassen, playing for the Rams as kids then the SunDevils in high school, this community has taught us everything about the game we love.
